Do I need pageant experience? No. Many of our contestants have not competed in a pageant before and have won the state title on their first attempt and others have competed more than once. Winning the title is about being the best "YOU" you can be! Anyone can win the crown! As the State Director, I am here to go over wardrobe, interview skills, stage presence or discuss any questions you may have. I am here for you! Is talent a part of the competition? There is no talent competition. There are three areas of competition: evening gown, fitness (one piece and pantyhose are required) and interview. Does it matter how old or tall I am? Will that affect if I win? No, there are no requirements for age or height. State contestants have ranged in age from 21 and into their 50's and have varied in height from 4’11" to 6’ 2”. I do not have any children, are having children a requirement? It is not a requirement whether or not you have children. There have been state and national titleholders in our system who have and have not had children. I saw that you require a platform. What does this mean? When we say that you must have a platform, we are not looking for Miss America. We are looking for a cause that you would like us to list that you are passionate about. This cause will be what you focus your year of service on if you are crowned the state winner and we will also do our best to schedule your appearances around the cause of your choice. Of course, we encourage you to get involved with organizations related to your cause at the local level but it will not give you a better score one way or the other. Is there a fee to enter? Yes there is an entry fee. We encourage you to obtain sponsorships to cover all your pageant expenses so you should not have to pay for any costs out of your personal finances. Sponsors love to help and they receive recognition in the official program book. Your community will be honored to offer support, after all you are representing them in the State Pageant! If you need tips on how to obtain sponsors, I am happy to help. If I enter the pageant and decide to withdraw after I have paid my application fee/entry fee, can I get a refund? Unfortunately, due to the high cost to put on a quality pageant production, we will be unable to refund any funds paid by yourself or any sponsors. Any fees paid are also non-transferable to another delegate/person. Thank you for your understanding on this matter. Do I win a prize package? Each state winner will win a prize package valued at over $3,000 including the official Mrs. or Ms. state crown, sash and an all expense paid trip to the national Mrs. or Ms. United States Pageant, skincare products, official queen photo shoot, jewelry and much, much more. Why should I enter? Our state pageants are the official preliminaries to the Mrs. and Ms. United States Pageants, the premiere pageants for the married & today's woman. Competing for any of these titles is an incredible and once in a lifetime experience. It is a time to do something for YOU and meet new friends with the same interests.
